BARRY JOYCE of the Dublin Gay Mens Choir [crackle and interference on phone line and drop out at beginning of interview] joins Eoin Drinan to discuss their upcoming performance “Summer Serenade” a concert of 30 men performing in the CHQ building. They perform a collection of songs from Sinatra to The Script along with some classical pieces.
Barry shares the story of the creation of the choir and how it is an international collection of Gay Mens chorus, which inspired them to create a Dublin Chapter. They speak of how the members were sourced and how the numbers grew from 20 to 30. While we hear that by definition a chours involves 200-250 participants but they are constntly growing.
Concert takes place at 4pm on 23rd June 2013 at the CHQ buildin.
