Committee of Management

The Media Co-Op Committee of Management:

 vincent Vincent Teeling
Vincent is Chairperson of the Committee of Management, and has been actively involved in the campaign and development of community radio for over 25 years. He is a former member of the Ardlea Parish folk group. Vincent brings a wide range of technical skills to the Committee and is employed as a systems engineer with an international company.
 declan Declan Cahill
Declan is Vice Chair of the Committee of Management is also drama co-ordinator of the near drama company in Near FM, which he co-founded. He is a founder and still active member of Riverside Drama Circle (founded in 1972). He is Chairperson of the Board of Management of Scoil Chaitriona Infants, Coolock Village with which he has been involved for 25 years. He is a vice-chairperson of Northside Partnership, a member of the Board of Management of St Davids Boys National School’, a board member of Northside Community Law and Mediation Centre, Chairperson of the Northside Community Forum’ and chair of the Dublin City Council’s North Fringe Forum. He has extensive experience in company development having previously worked in the public service for 40 years.
dave Dave O’Connor
Dave is Secretary to the Committee, and has been involved with the co-operative since 1985. Dave is a regular presenter on Near FM and provides training to new volunteers in radio programme production. A former volunteer with the Irish Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Children and St Vincent De Paul, he brings a wealth of experience in community development work to the Committee. A civil servant, Dave has worked in high profile Government Departments (Social Protection, Education and Health) working with customers across many socio-economic backgrounds.
 Peter-Photo Peter Cunningham
Peter is Treasurer to the Committee and has been with near for over 15 years. Peter was instrumental in developing and nurturing the stations new band policy. A regular contributor to current affairs programming and policy within the Co Op, Peter brings considerable analytical skills to the Co-Op. He is employed as a chartered surveyor.
 Sabrina-Photo1 Sabrina Ryan

Sabrina has been volunteering with Near FM since 2012 across a number of programmes, primarily current affairs/magazine. A journalism graduate of DCU, Sabrina is currently teaching English as a foreign language and has previously volunteered and subsequently worked with Dublin South FM.
 Blaydes-Photo Stephen Blayds
Stephen has been involved with the co-operative for over 4 years. His background is as an Artist having studied and exhibited around Ireland and in the UK gaining a Masters in Visual Arts practices from IADT. As well as working as a freelance Arts facilitator and technician he is currently a Youth Arts Worker for Sphere 17, Dublin 17’s Regional Youth Service. Stephen maintains his own Studio practice being a member of the Market Studios.
 Aileen-Lee-Photo Aileen Lee
Aileen Lee has been a volunteer with Near FM since 2013, and is on the station’s Programmes and Contents Committee. She has eight years journalistic experience, which include: volunteering at Campus Radio, UCC (during which time she won a Smedia award in 2007 for the Radio Category, News and Current Affairs); working as a sub-editor and freelance writer for the Irish Examiner; and working as a freelance writer in Australia. She has also worked in several communications roles in a professional capacity.  She holds a BA degree in Language and Cultural Studies (UCC); an MPhil in Hispanic Studies (UCC); and a MA in Political and Public Communication (DCU).
 sue Sue O’Neill
Sue O’Neill is Vice Chair to the Committee of Management. She grew up in Bayside and now lives in Dublin 17. Sue began her career first training and subsequently working as a registered general nurse. She later attended Trinity College Dublin from which she holds a BA in economics and sociology and a Ph.D in economics. She has worked as a management consultant as well as a freelance social researcher. She worked with Near FM for 16 months and is now active as a volunteer. She has conducted a number of pieces of research for Near Media Co-op. She is a mental health advocate and is an active member of the Suaimhneas Clubhouse in Coolock.She is also the chairperson for the Service User Forum for North Dublin Mental Health Services.
 Lidja Radacic Photo Lidija Radacic
Lidija Radacic has been volunteering with Near FM for over 4 years. She has contributed to several Near TV projects and is currently producing & presenting the programme Balkan Beatz on Near FM. A marketing professional, Lidija is currently working as a digital marketing specialist within the hospitality field and is regularly involved in charity events projects in Dublin.
