Mark speaks to SHAYKH UMAR AL QADIR, head imam of the Blanchardstown Islamic Centre and chair of the Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Centre.
He talks about the work he does for both the Blanchardstown Islamic Centre and the Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Centre, his understanding of people’s perceptions of the Muslim community, his opinions on Muslim extremists, how both Muslim and Irish communities are adapting to each other and how he feels that religion should not be an excuse for extremists to commit such violent actions as reported on the news.
He also talks about how he feels that the politicians of today are not helping the situation and how it’s important for everyone to understand each other.
