ALEC O’LEARY, Director of the annual Guitar Festival of Ireland 2012 talks to Noel McGuinness about why he chose to take the route of classical guitar playing rather than the rock’n’roll approach.
A graduate of the DIT Conservatory of Music, Alec says he does love rock’n’roll, he just likes to play classical as well.
This year’s festival is attractinfg great guitarists from all over the world. “We’re just building on the reputation that the festival has established in the past,” says Alec.
Two pieces of music are included in this interview. They run from 0.14 to 2.57 and from 10.09 to 12.56 and are both beautiful to listen to.
